It’s disappointing but it happens – whenever there’s a gold rush, some win big time and some lose big time. It’s no different with the indisputable opportunities in the US property market. We’ve always advocated doing your own homework with whatever investment you’re thinking about. With investing in US real estate it’s even more important. Think of your Dad saying ‘if it sounds too good to be true it probably is’. Education, research, due diligence and more diligence is key to taking advantage of some of the historically low investments and positive yields currently available in the US property market.

There are amazing opportunities there, but there’s lots of duds too. The trick is knowing the difference. Moral of the story: get educated and do your homework.
